    How does Orato's pricing work?+
Orato uses a credit-based, pay-as-you-go model. Create a free account, top up your wallet with credits, and pay only for the minutes you use. Pricing starts at $0.25/min in the US, $0.40/min in UAE, and ₹4.5/min in India. Phone number rental is billed separately. There are no mandatory subscriptions, the basic tier is free and you only pay for what you consume.
What is the minimum top-up amount?+
The minimum top-up is $10. All payments are processed in USD and displayed in your local currency at current market exchange rates.
    What currencies do you accept?+
All payments are processed in USD via Stripe. Your local currency equivalent is shown at checkout using live market exchange rates, so Indian customers see an INR amount and UAE customers see an AED amount, but the underlying transaction is always in USD.
    Do unused credits expire?+
No. Credits in your wallet never expire and remain available until used.
    Are there subscription plans available?+
Yes. While the basic tier is completely free and pay-as-you-go, monthly subscription plans unlock additional features beyond minute usage. Visit the Pricing page for full details on what each plan includes.
What exactly does an Orato AI agent do?+
An Orato AI agent makes and receives phone calls on behalf of your business, 24/7, handling hundreds of simultaneous calls. It qualifies leads, books meetings, answers questions, follows up automatically, and escalates to a human when needed. It speaks 38 languages and operates at sub-500ms latency.
How is Orato different from a traditional IVR or phone menu?+
Traditional IVR systems follow fixed scripts with button-press menus. Orato agents are fully conversational, they understand natural speech, handle unexpected questions, and respond dynamically. No menus, no press 1 for sales, just a real conversation at AI speed and scale.
How long does it take to set up an AI agent?+
Most agents are live in under 30 minutes. Pick a voice, set the language, define the script, and launch. No coding required. Complex integrations may take a few hours with support from our team.
What is call latency and why does it matter?+
Latency is the time between when a person finishes speaking and when the AI responds. Orato operates at sub-500ms latency, comparable to human conversation. High latency above 500ms makes AI calls feel robotic and causes call drop-offs.
Can the agent handle objections and go off-script?+
Yes. Orato agents are built on large language models that handle unexpected questions, objections, and redirections naturally. You can configure guardrails, fallback responses, and escalation paths to a human agent.
How does Orato handle data security?+
Orato encrypts data at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3), enforces role-based access, keeps audit logs, and applies a zero-training policy on your call data. Enterprise engagements can include custom data retention, sanitisation workflows, and contractual SOC 2, GDPR, or HIPAA alignment tailored to your requirements.
    Where is my data stored?+
On secure cloud infrastructure with region-specific options. Indian customer data is processed in compliance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA). We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
Are call recordings stored and who can access them?+
Call recordings and transcripts are stored securely and accessible only to your account users with appropriate permissions. You can configure retention periods and delete recordings at any time. Orato staff do not access recordings without explicit consent.
Is Orato compliant with India's TRAI regulations?+
Orato is designed to work within TRAI's framework, DND scrubbing, call time restrictions, and disclosure requirements for automated calling are all supported. We recommend customers consult their legal team for their specific use case.
Can Orato use local phone numbers?+
Yes. Orato provides local phone numbers in three regions right now through VoIP services: India, the US, and the UAE. We're actively expanding our number provider catalogue and enabling numbers for new regions globally.
Which CRMs does Orato integrate with?+
HubSpot is supported today. Salesforce, Zoho, and Leadsquared are coming soon. All call outcomes, status, transcript, qualification result, meeting booked, are pushed to your CRM in real time.
Can I connect Orato to a custom system?+
Yes. Orato supports webhook-based integrations, connect to any system accepting HTTP requests including custom lead tools, Google Sheets pipelines, and marketing automation platforms. Full API documentation is available to all registered accounts.
Can Orato automatically book meetings into my calendar?+
Yes. When an agent qualifies a lead, it checks your real-time availability and books a meeting directly, no human needed. Works with Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook. The prospect receives a confirmation immediately after the call.
    Does Orato offer an API?+
Yes. Orato's API allows developers to programmatically trigger calls, manage agents, retrieve call logs and transcripts, and integrate voice AI into existing products. Contact us for enterprise API access with higher rate limits.
How do I get started with Orato?+
Four steps: create a free account at tryorato.com, top up your wallet (minimum $10), build your agent (pick voice, language, script), then launch. Most customers make their first AI call within 30 minutes of signing up.
Do I need technical knowledge to use Orato?+
No. Orato is entirely no-code and designed for business users. API and webhook integrations are available for technical teams but fully optional.
What kind of support do you offer?+
All accounts have access to email support at support@tryorato.com with a 24-hour response time. Enterprise accounts receive dedicated onboarding, a named account manager, and priority support SLAs.
Can I test Orato before committing?+
Yes. Book a live demo and we'll run a real AI call for your specific use case so you hear exactly how your agent will sound before spending anything. You can also explore the dashboard before topping up.
    Which languages does Orato support?+
38 languages out of the box, English, Hindi, Hinglish, Arabic, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Mandarin, and more. The same agent can be configured to handle multiple languages based on caller preference or campaign settings.
    Can Orato handle Hinglish conversations?+
Yes. Hinglish, the natural Hindi-English mix spoken by hundreds of millions of Indians, is natively supported. Our agents understand and respond in Hinglish naturally, making them significantly more effective for Indian outbound campaigns.
How natural do the voices sound?+
Orato uses neural TTS with breath, emphasis, and prosody. Most callers don't realise they're speaking to an AI. By policy, agents disclose they're AI when directly asked. Preview all voices at tryorato.com before building your agent.
Can I clone my own voice?+
Yes. Clone your best agent's voice in under 60 seconds using a short audio sample. Available on higher-tier plans.
